Amanda & Justin

It's been a busy year and I haven't posted many wedding lately.  I'm going to do my best to try and post at least one a week but we'll see how that goes.  Amanda and Justin were married back in July.  It was really hot that day but they were both so happy you couldn't tell if it was 80 or 112 outside!  I think their photographs reflected how they were feeling that day.  Congrats guys and I hope the move to San Antonio has gone well!

Favorite image of the summer..

I promise to post more wedding images next week.  I just had to put this image up as it's my favorite photo of the summer.  Of course I'm a little bias....  she just turned one in August.

Where has the summer gone?

I feel almost embarrassed writing this as it's been several months.  A lot has transpired over the past few months.  I can't believe summer is gone.  The summer was full of weddings and family visiting from out of town. I was also able to finally go on a photography trip that I've been wanting to do for almost 3 years.  I was in Israel and Jordan for almost the whole month of August.  A lot of things happend on that trip, some good...some (almost) bad.  I managed to dodge a terriorist attack by 1 day.  I successfully set off a bomb scare at the airport w/ some camera equiptment in Tel Aviv on my departure.  I drove an Israeli rental car through the West Bank which was more than interesting.  I'm going to try to do several blog posts with what I did and saw.  I just got around to starting the editing process with some of my favorite images.  Most images were taken in the ultra orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem.  It was one of the most interesting places I've ever been.  It felt like being on the set of an old movie where I was seeing everything in black and white.  More on that later....just wanted to share a few images.  More to come later..  thank you for visiting...

Stuck in the splits...

She doesn't cry very often so when I saw this one I didn't know what was up with her.  Then I figured out that she was stuck in the splits.  I had to snap a few before I fixed her little leg!

JULIA + DAVID

I've been trying to be better about blogging weddings this month.  May was insane and I got a bit behind.  My wife went on a trip to Paris with her mother and left me to be Mr. Mom.  It was probably the worst month to do that to me but worth it as she had a great time. (my mom helped me of course!)

We had such great weather for this wedding in the middle of April.  Ladue News asked to feature it in this months Elegant Living.  (Thank you for asking!)  I promise to post more from the past few months soon!

 

Alison + Kevin...

In honor of today or as a matter of fact this whole spring I've decided to throw up a few images of a wedding I had a few weeks ago.  It was dark and gray all day long but these two were such troopers.  Every 20 mintues the rain would stop for a few mintues and we would run to shoot whatever we could.  They were supposed to have an outdoor wedding at the Botanical Gardens.  We ended up having the ceremony under a tent and everything turned out great.  I'd hate to see Alison on a sunny day....she was all smiles from start to finish.  It really shows that attitude is everything.  Such a fun couple to work with!  I think they are in Hawaii right now so they don't have this weather we do in St. Louis!  Congrats guys!

 

The itch to travel...

As I was shooting this family it transported me back to India with all the vibrant colors and wonderful traditional clothing.  I met Uri and Komo at a wedding I shot last year and we were able to get together to photograph the family a few weeks back.  Juri is one of the owners of Lola (www.welovelola.com) on Washington Ave. So check it out if you haven't already.  They have great food and live music every week.

I was able to grab several great shots of Kush & Manu as they were running around my studio!  They were interested in just about everything but having their photos taken!haha Komo had to bait them with raisins or whatever she could find in her bag.

After finishing the shoot I started researching flights and places to stay.  I'm not going back to India this time... I'll keep you posted in a few months where I'll be headed.

 

On set of...."One Born Every Minute Season 2"

Six months have flown by and I'm back at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.  I had a pretty crazy day today with a few scheduled c-sections! Watching a baby being born is the most incredible thing to witness.  I feel very fortunate to be able to be an observer rather than a father.   When does someone other than a doctor get to be in the operating room while someone unrelated to you is having a baby? haha Today we had a few really emotional dads which was really cool to see.  It made me want to have another baby today, though my wife has another opinion! (though I don't imagine it will be too much longer!)

Season 1 did really well...so hopefully I'll be back to witness the miracle of birth a few more times!  I will post more images once the show comes out.  Here's one of me today between shoots...

 

home alone...

I'm sure on certain levels this is considered child abuse.  Sofi's mom took off to Paris with her mother for two weeks!  So we were a little bored the other day sitting around the house and this was as close to Paris as we could get!  I have to give the credit to my friend Jill...this is just one stash of 15 that she sent me.  So be prepared for several more characters w/ stashes in the near future! 

 

Sepia Accessories Spring 2011..

I did a post a few months back on a good friend of mine who owns Sepia Accessories.  We just finished shooting her Spring 2011 campaign and it went great!  We had Briley from West Model Management who did a fantastic job!  It was refreshing to get back to fashion photography.  It's where I began my love for photography and it has transformed into other creative outlets with my career.  Here are a few from yesterday.
