So the problem is I have two lives that I want to live. One of a photojournalist covering stories in foreign lands. The other is being married..living in St. Louis..having a family. I've opted for the latter as I know that is the more rewarding path in life. Though my wife and I are starting to plan a few trips this winter (no weddings) so we can experience things together and I can get my travel/photography fix. I'm starting to submit some of my work to agents and figuring out how that web of business works in my spare time. I never had any intention of selling my work nor finding an agent but it's a fun project outside of my studio business.
In the past few months I've submitted a few photographs to National Geographic online and both were selected by the senior photo editor. I was really excited and motivated to start putting things together and planning my next trip. We are thinking Spain/Morocco or a road trip through Mexico. I'm looking forward to expanding my portfolio while at the same time having unforgettable experiences w/ my wife! I'll keep you posted....
